aprilF Posted January 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Our flight after our cruise (5-10 Feb 2007, Fantasy) does not leave until later (6 ish). We were hoping to go on one of the excursions after the cruise. Has anyone done any of the New Orleans excursions. If so, any feedback--good or bad-- would really be appreciated. If no one has any advice on excursions, are there any activities that are close to the airport or pier that would be worth doing on our own. Also, if we chose to go out on our own, what would we do with our baggage (any lockers or some other place to store them)? We did the Everglades tour out of Miami an it was a nice way to avoid the airport for a few extra hours. There just werent any excursions that I really want to do and would love to know which ones have been enjoyed by others (or to avoid at all costs). curcurt Posted January 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Try this web site http://neworleanswebsites.com/index.html Also post something in the section of Port of Calls in the News Orleans section. They have people there that can help. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21 You would need to leave downtown New Orleans at about 3:30pm to make it to the airport 2 hours before your flight, which is at 6pm. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get the airport.
tessky Posted January 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2007 Not much to do around the airport but you could check out the French Quarter for a bit. Go to the French Market, go to Cafe Du Monde for beignets & coffee. Not sure what you would do with luggage.
