zaandam_2 Posted January 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2007 there's no difference in the actual cabin. the higher the letter, the higher the deck.
bphman Posted January 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Location of the cabin only. The cabins are all the same. Some areas of the ship are more desirable.
yst347 Posted January 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2007 An 8A is a balcony on the lowest deck with balcony cabins. You move up the ship to a higher deck as the letters increase except on Spirit class ships. On Spirit class most decks with balconies have two letters. The lower letter is a standard balcony, the next letter is an extended balcony. Did you get a good deal? Probably. How much did you pay for your cabin? What would you have had to pay to book an 8D? SPARKY12 Posted January 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2007 I got an 8C for $70 more, than my 4E inside, booked 9 days before the cruise and got the military discount.
VentureMan_2000 Posted January 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2007 There is a perception that higher is better. But... if higher is better, then why are the suites located in the Empress deck and not higher? The answer is, because the Empress deck gives you a great ride on the ship... especially if you get a midship cabin.
