barry70 Posted January 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2007 We will be on the NCL Pearl with our 2 1/2 year old in a few weeks. We plan to bring one of those blow up pools. Does anyone happen to know if the staff will blow these up for us (maybe they have some high pressured air somewhere?) or if we will have to do it ourselves (with our lungs)? Thanks! bmgaritty Posted January 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2007 Since the blow up pool will be small it shouldn't be too much to blow it up.

Lady_Gamecock Posted January 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2007 They probably will not since it's not a "normal" request. We are getting Baby_G a small blow-up pool that we're just going to keep inflated (use as a bathtub/pool/clothes washing area). I'm making sure to keeping about the size of a pool chair. We're lucky, this cruise we have a balcony, so we can keep it out there and out of our way. Lady_G
bmgaritty Posted January 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2007 I don't think they will blow it up for you. It is quite a bit out of the realm of crew/cruiseline responsibility.
vetgirl Posted January 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2007 I don't know for sure first hand, but I'd go with what everyone else is saying and assume probably not. If you'd like a suggestion--maybe a small foot pump would not take up too much room in your suitcase.
Onessa Posted January 15, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2007 It is etirely up to the individual crew/crew member on most ships. In addition to the foot pump, there are also even smaller hand pumps. As someone else mentioned the pool is undoubtably very small and even a good quality balloon hand pump will likely work on any small inflatable. wentworth Posted January 15, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 15, 2007 Barry Not sure about NCL but my daughter had no problem getting her daughters blow up pool inflated by her room steward on the Carnival Liberty last February. When he came to her room as she was unpacking to introduce himself he asked if she needed anything. She inquired about getting the blown up. He said no problem give me the pool. She gave him the pool and $5 and told him no hurry, as soon as he had a free minute. He was back with the pool within 10 minutes!! The pool worked great in the shower and on the Lido deck aft. She found a place out of the way of the pool and was joined by two other toddlers who couldn't go into the regular pool. Have a great cruise:) Joyce

MissKise Posted January 16, 2007 #16 Share Posted January 16, 2007 I think Barry should plan on blowing...... And the pool should be small enough to only take a little bit of air...like the ones you can bath kids in the sink with. People shouldn't plan on a "pool" for the kids to swim in......:D

The pools are small enough to need just a bit of air but the one we had was not a flimsy plastic material and I've never seen a "pool" small enough to fit in a sink unless it was an industrial size:confused: . What would you suggest for what the kids should swim in?

What would you suggest for what the kids should swim in? Snug tub is great -http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro/baby/19118/SnugTubDeluxe.html Great for a toddler to splash around in. Doesn't take up too much deck space. It's 32X21, just enough for a toddler to "swim".
clawsoncrew Posted January 17, 2007 #19 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Question for y'all that are taking the pool on deck for our kids that can't go into the big kids pool (I'm with the whole rule of no poop in pool) where do you get them filled? Probably a stupid question, sorry.

Lady_Gamecock Posted January 17, 2007 #21 Share Posted January 17, 2007 At the pool showers, where you rinse off, you can fill them up (and dump them). :D
Lady_Gamecock Posted January 17, 2007 #22 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Please make sure your pool is on the smaller-side..... The cruise lines don't have to allow us to bring baby-sized pools. This is very nice of them and we wouldn't want to spoil the ability for others!!! :)
