We are on The Golden Southern Explorer in October 2004. The stops in St Kitts and Grenada are only from 7am until 3pm. Is there any one who has already done this cruise and what did you do in such a short time??? We really don't want to stay on the ship. Thanks in advance.

St. Kitts we just shopped. Wanted to do Turtle beach but it started raining. Grenada we did the Beach swim. Boat took us out to a beach. It was very nice but the vendors were all over the place. Must not have bothered us too bad as we did buy some things!

travelwoman,

I have not been to Grenada but did do a Princess excursion in St. Kitts.

It was a couple of years ago but it was a half day tour to Brimstone Fortress (an incredible fort that offers sweeping views of the Caribbean) and Romney Manor (Caribelle Batik is made and sold there). St. Kitts is very pretty and everyone there was very friendly. I do recommend going ashore whether or not you take a ship's tour; though I didn't find the shopping -except for the things we bought at Caribelle Batik - to be very good.

Hope this info helps.

we did a tour in Grendada that included a spice farm, a rum distillery from the 1700's, a luncheon at the Belmont Estate(which was very nice) and a stop at Grand Etang. It literally took the whole day and we didn't get back until almost 2:30. It was a little long, but saw a lot of things. I would have liked to spend more time at the Belmont Estate. Hope you enjoy your cruise.
