ChiBearsSuperFan Posted January 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Okay, whats the scoop on this place? Is it nice? Restaurant on site? Restaurants nearby? Shopping nearby? Things to do nearby? Any local area information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
playfulgen76 Posted January 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Hi, we are staying there in March, so I can't give you firsthand experience, but check out their website- they have pics of everything. They have a deli, a sports bar type place, and one other?? I can't remember the exact website, but go to www.hyattregency.com and search for the Miami one. CaribbeanCrush Posted January 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2007 We stayed there last week. It is very nice. Everyone was friendly. There is a restaurant on site. Some shops and restaurants within walking distance. It's a short taxi ride to the Bayside shops. A nice shopping area with nicer places eat. familycruzer Posted January 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Any good pizza shops in the area that will deliver to the Hyatt? It seems to be a tradition in my family to eat pizza in our hotel room the night before a cruise.

debshomespun Posted January 17, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Familycruzer--what date did you get the Hyatt for? I have had no luck on Priceline or Hotwire for a thursday night, 3/1/07. Everything is very high. I know it is the high season, but being a thursday night, I thought things would be a little lower priced. Anyone know if there is something special going on in Miami this time of year?
familycruzer Posted January 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2007 I put the exact information on the sticky for winning bids, but here you go. August 18, 2007 for one night. I bid a 4* Downtown Miami for $85 and was turned down. I rebid and added Dadeland 4* (there is no 4* in Dadeland) and bid $85 again and won. I guess I should have started a bit lower but was not expecting to win for $85. ** edit ** http://www.gmcvb.com/planners/convcalendar_public.asp PRINTING ASSOCIATION OF FLORIDA Date : 3/2/2007 - 3/4/2007 Attendance Location(s) : Miami Beach Convention Center Attending 20000
alphakitty Posted January 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Lucky you! I've been trying and trying for a downtown Miami hotel for 85 and have gotten no where! I cruise in 24 days...looks like the back up ressie is going to have to do.
debshomespun Posted January 17, 2007 #12 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Kitty--I guess the difference is we are looking for "high" season, and familycruzer is looking in the low "hurricane" season.
alphakitty Posted January 18, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 18, 2007 I suspect you are right deb :) Oh well, it's only a night and we are renting a car anyway, so it's not a problem really.
