dothow Posted July 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2004 Hi Fellow Cruisers, We know you can take wine on board when embarking. For those who have done so recently, what is the policy for bringing on your own cork screw? Thank you and Happy Cruising dothow
steveNcindy Posted July 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2004 I just packed one in my shaving kit and put it in my checked luggage.
hilltopfamily Posted July 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2004 We stopped before going to the port, picked up 2 bottles, but didn't give a thought to the corkscrew. Called and asked room service if they had one. They immediately were at the door with one of the "Carnival" plastic souvenir-type corkscrews, which we were allowed to keep, but of course we tipped the person a few bucks. Problem solved! ;)
OhioJeff Posted July 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2004 hilltopfamily Thanks for that info! I dont think I have ever read that before.
aggieastrosfan Posted July 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2004 I packed a bottle of wine and a corkscrew in my carryon. The attendant at the x-ray machine just asked if I had a bottle of wine in my carryon. I said yes, she said ok, and we went on our way. No problems with bringing our own. Bunkie103 Posted July 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2004 If you are flying to your port, be sure the corkscrew is in your checked luggage, because Security at the airport will take it from you. Also, regarding wine glasses....ask at one of the bars and they will gladly give you two wine glasses. But, if you ask at a bar near the pool they will give you plastic wine glasses. Just FYI! :D
day-day Posted July 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2004 Corkscrews are permitted in carry-on baggage at airports. If the corkscrew has a knife blade as part of its makeup, then it isn't allowed. http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/editorial/editorial_1012.xml
