bluedog123mom Posted January 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I have a question, how come Carnivals cost is considerably higher than a recently used site that "competes" in price? I am assuming they are not factoring in the port taxes? yes? Jackie
StuartLittle Posted January 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2007 TA's refund some of their commission to get your business. Carnival doesn't. With any quote you get from a TA, you should verify it includes all taxes, fees, etc. For my 2 cabins, Carnival wanted over 4300. I got it through TA for 3,700. Since then, price has only increased. PVP's were very nice, but they just couldn't compete with TA
kathy7558 Posted January 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Many of the so-called "discount" websites do not include port fees, taxes, and their own fees in the advertised price. Once these are added back in, the price is much closer to Carnival's price. Like the above poster said, always ask for the bottom line before making comparisons. VentureMan_2000 Posted January 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2007 The ones that do discount may also purchase blocks of cabins from Carnival at a discounted rate... and may pass along some of that savings to you.
