Timing a Car Rental on Grand Cayman

We would love to rent a car on Grand Cayman, but I am concerned about getting back to town in the traffic in time for tendering back to the ship. I know most car rental agencies "deliver" you to the pier --- any idea about the time we ought to allow between dropping off the car and getting back to the tender?

I have rented a car previously at GC on a five-day visit, and based on my experience, I would return the car about an hour before the last tender. That will give you plenty of time to process the paperwork, and get back to the tender pier. The airport and rental companies are about a mile from the tender pier, and the traffic is never that conjested that it will take more than about fifteen-minutes to get back.
