Taxis in St Thomas/St John

It looks like I will have to travel to St John by myself. Are the taxis in St Thomas/St John for one person or do they carry a whole lot of passengers. I was wondering how difficult it would be to get a taxi.

Hello,

Most of the taxis are vans and safaris and can hold groups -some up to 24 or 26 passengers. The drivers typically want to wait to get some... a full load of passengers before heading off. You shouldn't have a problem getting a taxi. If you request a private taxi you will pay more than the standard per person, in shared taxi, rates.
