What is there to do in Belize?

We had a great time in Belize. Spend some time browsing through the pages on the Belize forum and you'll get a good idea of what is available. My suggestion would be to either book an excursion from the ship or plan on booking one with a guide after you get off at the port. Also, the port is small, so have something in mind other than just walking around.

Well you have to be smart about it. Its not like Cozumel where you can get off the ship and do your own thing. All the beaches are on Cayes, or little islands out from the shore so you have to take an excursion or boat taxi to get to them. There is not much to see in the city itself other than the beer factory and I would not recommend just walking around, although you'd likely be ok. There are alot of great Mayan ruins excurisions and great snorkeling oppurtunities. Alot of people go cave tubing. There is actually alot to do in Belize, but not much at the port itself since the port is so small.

Belize City, is an old rundown ex British colonial town, there is not much too see in town, and what there is you can safely see, when you are driving through town on your way to whatever excursion you have booked.

There is a shopping area where the tenders to the ship arrive and depart, more than sufficient for shopping.

This February DW and I be back again, this time we're doing an all day tour to XUNTICMACH (spelling incorrect) mayan ruins.

Belize is very interesting country, with a large chinese community, all the locals we met were very friendly.

You'll have a great time there.
