Freedom for 30 somethings with no kids

Hi, we are booking on Freedom the frist week of May. Husband and I are both in our early 30's and have no kids and honestly don't really like to be around children at all. Unfortunately this is a family cruise, so we can't change the boat choice. We are getting a little concerned that this boat is a little too family friendly. We are encourage by the adults only pool area, but are worried that night life and dinner and other things will be full of screaming children. (sorry no offense to anyone out there). We are big drinkers and want to have a good time. Any advice on children free areas to stick to or things to do. Thanks!!!

Use the solarium pool area during the day (that's what I did on Navigator) very civilised and quiet. I never bothered with the main pools.

I don't think you will be bothered with children in the bars in the evenings, we particularly enjoyed the bar on deck 14 of the Navigator. On Freedom this is called Olive or Twist.

I have kids (well, teens now) and I feel the same as you. I want to relax and not have to put up with other peoples' kids screaming. I don't think you need to worry too much, the ship is plenty big enough that you are unlikely to run into swarms of young families and children.

Hopefully others will post and reassure you too, then you can really start to look forward to you cruise :D You will have a fabulous time I am sure.

We went on Freedom in October. We are all in our 30's and never had an issue with kids. Bars are adults only, solarium pool is a good place to be as well. We were late seating and there were not many kids in there at all. I think you should be fine. We were.

We have three kids, but when we got on vacation without them, it's our time together. Time to relax, nap etc.

Freedom is huge...And there are alot of areas where there aren't any kids. The Friday night dance party, casino etc. When hubby and I went we meet some people on here and they are the same age (Mid-thirties, Mid-Twenties) and we had a blast. I wish they would have shot specials though! We did one at the dance party, and they were $6.00 a piece! Holy Cow!!! But I am sure they don't for the safety of the guests, ok.

You will love Freedom. We are booked on Liberty since hubby loved it so much.

the majority of our cruises, and travel in general, we do in May as it is our anniversary. Seems to be the golden hour for travel... crowds are ok, rates are pretty good, and kids are in school!!

That's funny, but ya know what the last time I went on a cruise there was no drinking age for kids. Alot of the 'discos' (or whatever they were called) were full of abnoxious teenagers. And people were dragging their kids everywhere with them even in the casinos. I just read now that there is an age requirement. hal-le-lu-ya!

Thanks to everyone for the reassurance. My sister has 4 small kids who are just nightmares (as much as I love them) so dealing with them during mealtimes will be about all I can handle. Thanks again. Getting excited now!!!!
