Car Parking at Southampton Docks

Can anybody tell me what the parking situation is at Southampton docks for those who are cruising. Is it secure, long term similar to airports?

Any help much appreciated.

I agree with Gingernut9999, make the reservation, arrive at the terminal unload bags and hand over the car to the parking attendent who drives it away to the secure parking area and on your return there it is waiting for you in the terminal. Very easy I've used the service many times and never had a problem. In fact I'll be using it again in November for our QE2 cruise.

Thanks for the replies. Do you have to reserve this parking or can you 'just turn up on the day' and park there? Thanx for any further advice.

I am pretty certain you need to make a reservation - I always do. You can do this on-line go to http://www.candps.com and click on Parking Services. All the information is there.

I started to panic when all the car parks and (expensive!) hotels seemed full, and although there were plenty of web sites for airport parking there were very few for cruise parking.

 

As a result I used your suggestions and am happily parked for the 2-day QE2 cruise Nov 2005 for just £21.00!!!
