Camp Carnival verfiication?

HI. I was wondering how they verify the childrens age for all the kids programs if the child does not have a passport? What else would I need to bring instead? Or what do they ask for?

Has any one ever cruised the week that their kid turned 2? Will they let the child into camp at the start of the week or will they wait til its birthday? Do they do anything special for birthdays?

This group is great. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If the child does not have a passport(which soon everyone will have to have one) you have to have a birth cert. for that child. They are very strict on letting kids in under the age and strict on letting kids move up to be in a higher age group. I hope that helps!!

HAPPY CRUISING!!!

From what I understand they get a "manifest" with the childrens names and ages. In the past whatever age group the child is in at the beginning of the cruise is the group they stay in. They do allow children to move down but not up. You MAY get an understanding person and they MAY allow your child in the 2 YO group but just understand and don't get upset when if/when they tell you they can't because of the rules.

Your child is considered 1 for the whole cruise. Not allowed into the programs. We have a similar age issue with someone turning 18 during an upcoming cruise. We were told that the day you board is your age.

Steve is correct... You are the age you are the day you get on the ship. We also had a situation like that... my daughter had a birthday on the ship which would have moved her up but they didn't allow her to and wouldn't budge. Even worse, (well the kid thought so) our friends son turned 18 the day after we sailed and they wouldn't allow him to purchase drinks. (even through you can at 18 on the ship).

In your case, please be aware that from age 1 to 2 means that your child will not be allowed in Camp Carnival at all the entire week... You may want to think about that before booking...

Hey Elaine515 I just wanted you to know that you are wrong about the drinking age. It is 21 on Carnival. You must be 21 before you sail to buy drinks.

Actually you're wrong about camp carnival too. Children under 2 can take advantage of the babysitting offered at camp carnival.

From http://www.carnival.com

Parents and their Under 2 child can come into the playroom and utilize the facilities that we have OR parents have the option of leaving their child under the supervision of a Youth Counselor, a babysitting fee applies to the second option.

The babysitting fee is $6.00 per hour and is charged to the guest's Sail & Sign Account. Please check the Camp Carnival Capers for specific days and times.

I wouldn't say Elaine515 is "wrong" about camp - she is correct they can't enjoy camp in the traditional sense in that in order to use camp the parents must either be present or they have to pay. Babysitting is not camp. You don't pay for camp unless it is afterhours (10:00 pm).

I would wait the extra week so you can enjoy the activites without paying for your child to be in babysitting.

Legends right.

NCL will let 18 year olds drink beer and wine.

CCL will let 18 year olds into the casino and shows and the dance clubs until around midnight unless its crouded then its earlier. No booze until 21

I just got back from Conquest over Christmas, my son was 5 and wanted to go to the 6-8 group. When I asked if he could change groups here is what was said; No he could not change. The reason was because they do let some kids move up only if their birthday are with in 3 months from the date you are on the ship. He was just 2 weeks shy. As far as the camp for under 2 they do have some times for ONLY infants under 2 to play. Always when camp was closed to regular campers. This was they could not get trampled on. Not sure if there was an extra charge. It was usualy just an hour or two per day I think. Dont quote me on that! Hope this helps!
