NHLady Posted January 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Did you tender on Cozumel or dock. I know that Jewel is the last ship to arrive. The last time we were there we tendered in th AM and then docked when some of the ships left. Also, if you docked, which pier did you dock at? Thanks! NHLady Posted January 28, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Just off yesterday. We tendered for the full day. and pick you up? Close to the shops? I know that there is a Parade on the main drag down by the water the evening we are there, so I am wondering how difficult it will be to get back to the tendering area in the evening. How was the rest of your cruise?? Inquiring minds want to know!:D Thanks
rosie40 Posted January 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Actually, we didn't even get off this time b/c we've been there so many times before. Sorry I can't help you much there. Our cruise was terrific, though. We decided to just enjoy the ship this time around.
kruzerci Posted January 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Its been almost a year, but when we were on Jewel, we were the FIRST SHIP to dock in Cozumel since the hurricane. We were the last ones to arrive that day, too. It was really cool to see, all of the residents came out to greet the ship and they had a big celebration with bands and all. However, in June, we tendered on Navigator and the Carnival Triumph docked, but that may just be since Navigator is so large.
lsnyder Posted January 28, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2007 We just got off y'day too...the tender dropped us off right in San Miguel which is where all the shopping is. We skipped the shopping though and took a taxi right to Chankanaab park which despite there being several ships in port was very quiet and relaxing. The beach was nice with lounges and palapas for shade...bar service and a restaurant there - the snorkeling (which it is known for and the reason most people go there) was just ok. They suffered a lot of hurricane damage and it shows. Much better snorkeling on Grand Cayman and the Riviera Maya. They also do the dolphin excursions there.
