Transatlantic weather - October

We are thinking of taking the Sea Princess cruise from Southampton to Barbados departing 13th October. Can anyone give us an idea of the weather we might expect.

The cruise reaches the Azores on day 5 and Barbados on day 15. I am a little concerned about the late autumn weather. Does anyone know if we would be going close to the notorious Bay of Biscy?

The weather service has a hard time forecasting 5-7 days ahead! Mid-October is still in the active part of hurricane season, so you can have everything in between a calm, flat sea to brushing the outer edges of a force 3-4 hurricane with 10-20 ft waves. There is no answer to your question.

On that itinerary you do not transit the Bay of Biscay.

Sea state in the Atlantic always a crapshoot, all year round. We've done several trans-Atlantics, and all have been smooth to the Azores; West of the Azores we've had it all, from calm to very rough. Remember, that is where most of the storms that plague Florida go to "die out".
