California Coastline question

Recommended Posts

Will be sailing up the California coastline next May, I wonder if its worth getting a balcony cabin. My question is, how far out to sea does the trip travel? If the ship is out 30 miles or so, there will be nothing to see, anyone have any advise for me. Brett

It's not likely that you will see much. Most ships like to travel outside the international border both for the casino as well as avoiding rocks, islands and traffic.

But, a balcony is still very nice and you will enjoy it on the trips into and out of the harbors.

For me, the joy of being at sea is no land in sight.

We've taken three LA to Vancouver coastal cruises and have never seen much of the shoreline except on a very clear day. We try to book only balcony rooms, anyway, because we really enjoy sitting out there with coffee or a cocktail. And the views coming in & out of the ports are lovely, too (if you happen to be up that early).
