GirlyCruise07 Posted January 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2007 I'm going on the Majesty of the Seas March 19th-23rd to the Bahamas, Key West and Coco Cay. Should I purchase excursions beforehand with the cruiseline? And, what excursions do you recommend? I'm going with two of my girlfriends.

Well, first off you have to go parasailing in Cococay or Nassau. I was a little weary about it, but I ended up thinking it was awesome. Second, you have to go to Margaritaville and check out some of the bars in Key West!
parrotthead Posted January 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Personally, I recomend staying on the ship in Nassau..... sorry, JMO..I just didnt like Nassau... And with that itinarary (we did the exact same cruise in Oct) for me there was not enough time on the ship anyway...no sea days, which are my fav...so I would not even get off in Nassau.... Loved KeyWest...post stop was too short....Id go back there in a heart beat...great little place...check out Captain Tonys...it is one of the oldest bars in KW and has a lot of history..the bartender will be happy to fill you in...including a tree that goes up thru the roof that used to be the real 'hanging tree' for the criminals! CocoCay is lovely...the water is very salty, therefore very boyant...the BBQ was ok..nothing special IMO (but Im from Texas, so am picky about my BBQ) ...besure to get a "CocoLoco" rum drink...yummy...what ever you decide to do on CocoCay will be fun...its nice..(watch outt for stickers in the grassy areas..and rocks in the water) Enjoy. PS: with that being said...if you are set on doing something in Nassau...we spoke to some who did the 'Atlanis Resort' excusrion..and really liked it....altho the next day is CocoCay and so that is a beach day too....
S.S.Oceanlover Posted January 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2007 In Nassau I recvommend Breezes all inclusive. $60pp and $2pp for r/t transportation on the #10A jitney. You get use of the beaches, pools, towels, open bar, food, and non motorized water stuff. Bill
GirlyCruise07 Posted January 30, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Thank you! The last time I checked Breeze's all-inclusive was $94 for 4 hours! So I think we'll do Blackbeard's Cay while we're in Nassau.
Dremac373 Posted January 30, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2007 I say why not get off and see what Nassua has to offer...You just may like it or you may not, its part of the intin. so you are not paying extra to check it out for yourself. I mean you knew when you book the cruise that it was going to make port so whay not take advantage of it and see what there is to explore..Otherwise you could have simply booked a "Cruise to Nowhere" and stay on board for the whole cruise
nanfromatlanta Posted January 30, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Check out the Bahamas Ports of Call Board: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58 Lots of good information out there

If so I won't go back either. Bill

snowbun3 Posted January 30, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Hi- I'm going on the same cruise but Feb 19-23! Last year, DH and I booked the Historic Harbor and Atlantis cruise through RCCL on-line. We lLOVED it! We took a boat over to Atlantis- toured the aquarium and we were escorted to a little section of beach- it was beautiful there! We swam out to a raft with drinks in hand. We also played a bit in the casino and toured the grounds by ourselves. It was a fabulous day. We have booked the same excursion this time as well. Only 20 more days to go! piercetc4 Posted January 30, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2007 it could be that breeze's prices change according to how booked they are- slow times could = lower prices and vice versa
GirlyCruise07 Posted January 31, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Right, it probably has to do with the season. I'm going in the middle of spring break that's probably why the prices are so high. I will definitly get off a Nassau to experience it myself.
