skarletohara Posted January 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Yes, My questions seem to be getting sillier by the day, BUT I notice on our boarding passes that it says we leave from Pier 35 in SF, BUT when I checked the Port of SF's cruiseship calendar, it has us leaving from Pier 27 and the Dawn leaving from Pier 35. So my question is: Which is more accurate? Do I trust the Port's calendar or do I trust Princess's e-doc? Of course if I call Princess, you know what that means ---
LARGIN Posted January 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Pier 27 is very close to Pier 35 as only odd numbered piers are on the right side near Fisherman's Wharf. The even numbered piers are on the other side of the SF/Bay Bridge. You should be able to see your ship as it will be the biggest one there. Princess often leave/arrives at Pier 27 especially when 2 Princess ships are in port
aaerobear Posted January 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2007 There has never been any deviation from the schedule, the Dawn will be at pier 35 (she is homeported in SF) the Golden will be at pier 27. This information has been available for months on the website for the port of SF (http://www.sfport.com) The QM2 will be in town on the 5th of Feb as well as the Dawn and she will be at pier 27, while the Dawn will be at pier 35 Ed
aaerobear Posted January 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2007 You can also tell what ship is where when you head that way, they are pretty much visible from the roadways and if there is a change you would see the ships. I think the princess website always prints pier 35 on the boarding passes as that the pier they usually use (unless two ships in port) Ed
Druke I Posted January 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2007 BDJam is correct about the Pier numbering system in San Francisco, but it might be more accurate to say odd numbers are North of the Ferry Building, rather than "right", which changes depending on which way you stand! LARGIN Posted January 29, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2007 Druke.. I said right side of the bridge because skarletohara lives in Martinez which means she will be crossing over the SF/Bay bridge on her way to the ship. If she looks to her right she will be able to see the ships.. Also.. I am LARGIN, Brian is bdjam :D
Druke I Posted January 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2007 Sorry about the misidentification. My fingers did not understand the instructions from the thinking part. I guess she won't be riding in one of those new Chryslers with the seats facing the rear (same as my 3 row Plymouth station wagon had in the 67 model). skarletohara Posted January 29, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks everyone once again for quick replies. I was just hoping it was pier 35 since the walk from 55 Francisco is a bit quicker than the walk to Pier 27:o [LAZY] I also went on the roll call forum for those leaving on the Dawn and they in fact confirmed what I had suspected: That their docs also listed Pier

patti hunter Posted January 29, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2007 Sooooooooooooo, if the Golden leaves from Pier 27 on 4/12, which parking garage would be closer? This will be our first time actually DRIVING to a pier, so I don't want to go to the wrong one (lol).:o

It's a very, very short distance from the garage to Pier 35, and two-tenths of a mile longer to Pier 27 from the garage, according to maps
