Just got back from the Sun. Any Questions?

A few quick notes:

Dry Dock: Nothing major, Hull art, new carpet in main areas, new equipment in gym(gone are the big tv's, now all cardio have built on plasmas.) No changes in staterooms.

Dolphin Swim: Do it in Costa Maya. Was awsome. Others in our group says it blows away the one in Cozumel.

Early Flights; Got to airport at 10:30, after a 1.5 hour delay getting into port. People did miss flights. Mississippi had lots of traffic. Set standstill for over an hour because of traffic.

Weather was bad, had some dry times at the ports, but both sea days were a washout.

any questions??

Glad you had a good cruise. Suxs about the weather and the delay arriving. We are looking forward to our trip at the end of Feb.

Did you have any issues with service in the main dining rooms, ie slow and inattentive service? Also, how was the food?

Did they make any attempt to change the daily schedule due to the bad weather?

TIA Rick

I believe the OP stated that the ship was some what delayed on disembarkation day due to heavy ship traffic on the Mississippi River returning to New Orleans. How can the captain make up time for the last stop?

He mentioned this to warn those who book early flights out. Its best to wait until later in the afternoon than book a flight before noon. Fog can easily delay a ships return, in this case it was heavy ship traffic on the old muddy.

Food in the main dining room was very good, with good service. Always ate around 6pm, and was always done in less than a hour. Dining room was only 1/4 full at this time. They will bring you as many things as you want so just ask.

The weather was bad all over, so I do not think he could avoid it. I have been on cruises where the Cap. has steered away from clouds and weather so people have a better sea day.

We were to dock in NO at 7am, and get off at 7:45. The Capt. said because of bad weather all night, and that we had to wait for over 1.5 hours at the Southwest Pass that is for the delay. Rumors were too that he were hitting bottom around 11:30. We were in the casino and we all felt the big bumps. People said that he had to alter his course a little bit. We docked at 9am and were let off at 9:30. Express was a mess, seems like everyone was doing it. People everywhere. Good thing they had 8 custom agents and that helped. Made it to the airport by 10:30. Airport was very sleepy, very slow quick check in etc.
