We will be on our first cruise in April and looking to see what evenings the formal nights are. Also when is the midnight buffet? We are trying to choose a dinner time and these along with our shore excursions will help determine what we request.

When I went in Sept formal nights were Monday and Friday. I don't know about the midnight buffet. We had the 8PM dinner seating, so we weren't hungry after that :D

We just got off the Valor (Western) yesterday. Formal nights were Monday (sea day) and Thursday (Grand Cayman). In case you're interested, there were some tuxes, but they were by far the minority. I'd guess 5%.

 

The regular buffet was open all the time. They only had a "gala" midnight buffet one night. They had a huge spread of carved melons, fruits, etc., an ice carving, and all the food. Buffet opened for a 45 minute period at 11:15pm just for taking photos. Then it opened for dining. That was only once during the cruise.
