jphc318 Posted January 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2007 I am not sure if this has been covered. I know that the Christmas cruise has been covered but is there anything special they do for New Years cruises? Thank you for any help that you can give me. :)

Philly Steve Posted January 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Usually, the CD hosts a big party on the pool deck with live music, comp bubbly, and a countdown clock. No fireworks, ofcourse (distress signal?). Quite the party.
CarpeCerevisi Posted January 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Besides the pool deck, there are also parties in all th lounges. Also, at dinner there will be party hats and various noise makers on the tables. While the ship doesn't have its own fire works they may be off shore of an island that does. The two times I was on the Sovereign for New Year's we were just a few miles out from Nassau and we could see the fireworks the hotels were setting off. Likewise, this past New Year's on the Empress, we were off St. Maarten, although a bit further out than we were from Nassau.
uksimonusa Posted January 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Just off Mariner for New Year's, There were hats and noise makers at dinner, parties in the lounges, with free champagne, the captain did a countdown from the bridge on the royal promenade and let off a balloon drop at midnight

Straughn Posted January 30, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2007 We were on Legend of the Seas for New Years Eve 2006, which was a sea day, so no fireworks visible. It was a formal night, hats and noise makers in the dining room, parties in all the lounges, with the focus being on the one by the pool and in the centrum. Complimentary champagne was poured in all the lounges from 11:30-12:30. Very nice dinner in the dining room with a special NYE menu which you got to keep. jphc318 Posted January 31, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted January 31, 2007 THANK YOU ALL! Just have one more thing to ask,it would be better to be inthe dinning room that night than in Chops or Portifino? Considering that they give you party favors and a special menu in the main dinning room?
rid891 Posted May 1, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 1, 2007 I will be ont the FOS for New Years and I too was wondering if NYE was always a formal night? IF so what night might be good to go to Chops?
bfos Posted May 1, 2007 #12 Share Posted May 1, 2007 We enjoyed our tabelmates so much that we wanted to ring in the New Year with them at our table. But it is a very fun night all over the ship. We did the Jewel this past and will be doing it again this year! Cheers!
