debnjimpa Posted January 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2007 We are sailing on the Majesty on Feb 17th and wondering if they are still doing the Chocolate Buffet? A few years a go on a cruise to Bermuda they use to do a Midnight Choc Buffet that just couldn't be beat. It was the main reason my husband went LOL Can anyone tell us if they are still doing it? Katy P. Posted January 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Where is the chocolate buffet served on the Dream? Do they allow you to take photographs of their creations? Thanks. :)
hotspur Posted January 31, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Where is the chocolate buffet served on the Dream? Do they allow you to take photographs of their creations? Thanks. :) On our two Dream cruises the Chocoholic Buffet was served in the Four Seasons dining room midship on deck 9. Yes, you can take all the pictures--and eat all the chocolate--you'd like. ;)
Twice-a-year Posted January 31, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Do not want to spoil your Dream Chocolate Buffet, but I just wated to pre-warn you, it is not that great as you think. They are OLD Chocolate displays. But go for it, since you already on the ship. Have a great trip.
osiebosie Posted January 31, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Just got off of Majesty. Yep, they still have the chocobuffet. We didn't go. Slept right through it. :) But I hear it's good, except for the chocolate covered bananas. Shay
hotspur Posted January 31, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2007 They are OLD Chocolate displays. I suppose it is really cheap of them not to spend countless hours each week making a new chocolate Eiffel Tower and the many other chocolate sculptures for the buffet's display. Takes so much away from the experience not having these display sculptures (that are NOT to be eaten) freshly made for each cruise.
heelfan94 Posted January 31, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 31, 2007 hotspur is right. Being a chef's wife I know firsthand that the displays wouldn't be recreated for each week's chocolate buffet. It would be crazy to do that. Do you throw away all of your Christmas decorations each year? Same concept. :)
hotspur Posted January 31, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Do you throw away all of your Christmas decorations each year? Very appropriate analogy.
cruisequeen10 Posted January 31, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Three years ago on the Sun to Alaska they had the chocolate buffet at 3 p.m., right before dinner. That was great. The smell as you walk in is deadly. Of course I didn't eat much dinner that night.
