stevecw Posted February 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2007 We will be in Alexandria for two days on our upcoming NCL Jewel cruise. Day one will be to see the pyramids and spinx. We got that covered. Day two we just want to tour around Alexandria. We really don't want to pay the cruise line $50 a person just to ride us around in a big bus for a few hours. Has anyone got any advice on do it on your own - or local tour guides to use for Alexandria?
vivian02 Posted February 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2007 My wife and I will be in Alexandria for one night on a different cruiseline. We have already booked "The River Nile and Pyramids". From what I have be able to gather for cruiser's with a two day port of call I think there is a Excursion with a stay over in Cairo. Have you consider that? On the other hand there are two stops I have considered not to even consider private tours, Egypt and Turkey. There is not way I will miss the ship at these ports. Rare HeinBloed Posted February 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2007 Hello, we booked our tours with http://www.memphistours.com - so we did have a private guide and driver. We were told be the ship's shore excursion guests that we saw more and individual as they were put into a "sales event" in a papyrus plant than really had sightseeing. E-Mail to Mohamed and ask for a quotation: memphistours@memphistours.com He made our tour taylor-made. Regards, HeinBloed
