LDR Posted February 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2007 Thanks for your review! We are on her 4/7. How long did it take to get back from Orient Beach? I keep hearing about rush hour and traffic jams. Hope we get an extra hour there too:)
soocruise Posted February 5, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 5, 2007 We left the beach around 3:30, no traffic problems at all. 20min to 1/2 hour maybe?

Feel free to ask questions. http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=25280 Just read your review. Glad you had a good time. We also had a great trip. I was going to buy a bottle of rum on the ship also, but did not think I would finish it. DW always gets the ships special of the day so I would have been on my own. Never got to the pizza, we also had breakfast and lunch on Lido. Dinner in the restaurant each night except St. Martin. After we did the obligatory shopping, I stopped in one of the casinos, and though I got back to the ship in plenty of time, I kinda passed out from drinking too much in the casino. Noticed that they raised their drink prices somewhere around $.25 since our cruise in November, but they should have honored the drink coupons. We also spent a lot of time drinking and gambling. That screaming you heard in the casino on the last night of the cruise, was my DW after I showed her my straigh flush at Carribean Stud Poker
soocruise Posted February 5, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted February 5, 2007 Straight Flush!!! Awesome:D Did that get you a free cruise or something? I usually had pizza for a late night snack, loved it! I really didn't think we had a hope of finishing the bottle of rum, we actually ran out on the last day:eek: :D I would do it again! Everyone honored the drink coupons except that one guy at the bar. I found it odd that the frozen drinks refills were cheaper then the drink of the day refills. We usually had one drink of the day then switched to something else. Can't believe we drank those drinks & the rum too! The slots on the last night were pretty dead, then I got 5 7's with 2 triples, made back a bit so we were happy!

No the straight flush was $5500 (after the US Govt got their share and I gave the dealer a tip it was $3900, so it paid for this cruise), but I did also win the free cruise drawing before the last show We usually pig out on the pizza, but ate more hamburgers, steak, and ice cream this time. It is really amazing how much you can drink on a cruise and usually do not realize it until you get that sail N sign bill at the end. After the straight flush, I decided to quit gambling, but did go back to the slots because at that point I needed 23 points to get the $10 cash back thing, and I could not let Carnival get away without giving it too me. soocruise Posted February 5, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted February 5, 2007 WOW!! You won the slots & the free cruise!! Quick, go buy lottery tickets!!:D It is astounding how much we drank on that ship, I don't recall being drunk at all either. One of the differences is that we would start with rum & guava juice in the morning which we never do at home. nycruiser2006 - I'm sure you're 10 year old will love it!! Glad you found it useful. Now I know I'm back home for sure, I just spent 1/2 hour picking snowballs out of very large dog feet:) Poor pup had so much snow in there he couldn't walk properly. he came in and laid down with his feet in the air.LOL Sure is good to have the pups back with us!! snowbound Posted February 7, 2007 #12 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Great review thanks. My wife would like to know how the shower and the hair dryer works, as she has long hair and has heard many stories.
soocruise Posted February 7, 2007 Author #13 Share Posted February 7, 2007 snowbound - The hair dryer on the bathroom wall was very powerful, she should have no problem drying her hair. Washing it will be a different story as the water preasure is sadly lacking. Allow extra time for showering.
gypsyrose Posted February 7, 2007 #14 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Sounds like you guys had a great trip. Counting down the days till I will be on her. Glad to hear the hair dryer has power, most people say they are crappy and to bring your own. Trying to pack as little as possible. rellersi....How lucky you are:D WOW! You really should go buy some lottery tickets.
LDR Posted February 7, 2007 #15 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Ditto on the hair dryer. My daughter has long hair, so that will be a good thing. She can get ready first:) rellersi-you are one lucky person! Why don't you use that free cruise and come sit next to my DH on 4/7 so he'll have some luck. I always think we'll never finish our rum, but we made up a batch of rum punch last time and sat on the balcony and drank it all! I couldn't believe I wasn't hung over from that. Must have been all that good sea air!

Have not decided on a cruise or some other trip yet, maybe Vegas. What ship are you going to be on, and I will add that to our list of options that we are considering and we can help you drink your rum punch
