I'm aware of the "reasonable" amount of soda allowed...

We just sailed last week. We boarded with 18 - 500ml bottles of soda and it wasn't a problem. The only thing they take from you when you reboard is liquor bottles and I heard some people even got those back to their rooms too.

If we fly I don't take any-but if we drive to the port I usually take a 12 pack of diet coke.

 

Don't know where you are cruising to-but be aware that the Coke products (diet or reg.) do not taste the same in Mexico as they do here. I am addicted to Diet Coke and I can tell the difference. My friend is a regualar coke drinker and she can tell the difference also. They bottle )can) there own in Mexico so it may be the water or how they make it but there is a taste difference.
