joetrizeo Posted February 13, 2007 #26 Share Posted February 13, 2007 im glad that this ship allows teens in the disco after a certain time. im 16, and no one in the teen clubs ever dance! how active are the discos on the Magica?? wow thats a lot of cruises for a youngster. there is one 'disco' on magica, the others are bars and dance clubs for adults. magica is very similar to victory and triumph. Disco's on deck 4 right by the internet cafe. you can also get to it from the spiral staircase from deck 5 by the casino. how active really depends on the people. our regular disco crew was great. tons of teens and adults dancing, moreso the teens i'd say. first 2 nights it wasnt good but every night after that there were more and more people and it went later and later. fun times. kunapets Posted February 20, 2007 #32 Share Posted February 20, 2007 Thanks for the review. We go on Magica March 11. Does Magica dock in the shopping district, or do you need to Taxi from the pier to the shopping area? Thanks KS
joetrizeo Posted February 20, 2007 #33 Share Posted February 20, 2007 joetrizeo - which did you like best: Carnival Victory or Costa Magica? Costa Magica hands down. It had everything to do with Costa vs Carnival and nothing to do with the ship since they were virtually identical. Read my review of the victory if you want to see why. I wrote a review of the magica but it was never posted. Maybe i'll upload it again sometime, but its from feb 06.
RevRodney Posted February 21, 2007 #34 Share Posted February 21, 2007 Hi My husband and I are doing a back to back cruise on the Magica 2/25 through 3/11. Do they show movies in the cabin? How is tv coverage in the cabin? Are there penny and nickel in the casino? Is there an evening buffet in lieu of dinner in the restaurant? We are trting to secure a hotel room for March 12th.We are using pricline and just got rejected with a $83.00 bid for 2.5 stars.Any suggestions? Thank you so much Sue & ED Hi Sue and Ed, My wife and I just got back Sunday from our cruise on the Magica. It was nice but the worse part about the cruise was the european passengers. (Read my review). But to answer your questons: yes there is a buffet in lieu of the dining room, but if you eat there you'll miss the excelent treatment you recieve from the waiters! There are penny and nickle machines in the casino, and lots of smoke!! The TV selection was good. They don't show new movies in the rooms, they have been out a while. I recommend you go to the shows, we thought they were pretty good. Hope you enjoy your cruise!

Does Magica dock in the shopping district, or do you need to Taxi from the pier to the shopping area? Thanks KS We docked right at the cruise terminal. There are many shops there and it is right across the street from the main shopping area. Have fun!
