Caymen and Cozumel operators

Does anyone know who RCI uses as operators in Caymen and Cozumel for scuba. What was your experience with them? I debating if I should book my own dives or use the crusie lines operators. We will be there the end of this month on VOS. I'm on my own with the diving as the wife would rather just snorkel. This is our first crusie so not sure what to expect from a dive opertaor that the cruise line set up, but I can imagine a big boat, lot of people, and well used eqipment. I'd prefer an operator with a smaller boat that is more concerned about my dive experinece than catering to the masses. Thanks for any advice.

No question in my mind that you should make your own arrangements for diving. That way, you and your wife can go together. Unlike cruise dive trips, you can find operators that will make combo dive/snorkel trips.

On Grand Caymam I recommend http://www.neptunesdivers.com They go with 8 passengers max and will take snorkelers too.

On Cozumel, either http://www.eagleraydivers.com or http://www.cozumel-diving.net/BlueAngel/ do combo dive/snorkel trips.

You are also correct with your thought " but I can imagine a big boat, lot of people, and well used eqipment."

I would also agree that you should book your own dive. I have never used Blue Angel, but have heard very good things about them. We dive with Blue XTSea and they have smaller boats and terrific dive masters. Do a google search for Blue XTSea if you are interested and you will find Christy's web site. Give her a couple of days to respond, but she will get back to you.

Have fun! I love diving in Coz!

I dont' know about RCI but NCL uses Avitar in Cozumel. I thought they were pretty good all around. They didn't over load the boat and there was a dive master for 6-8 divers. No cover on the boat tho. So you are in the sun the whole time you are out. The good thing was the video! We got a beautiful video and it was ready before we left port.
