Time to kill in Miami

Recommended Posts

We arrive around 6am in FLL and our norwegian cruise is schedule to depart at 4pm out of miami. Any suggestions as to what we do in between. We will have 4 adults and 2 kids, so renting a car may be a bit difficult with all of our luggage. Anyone aware of hotels that offer day passes around the port of miami? Anyone know how early Norwegian lets you board?

Thanks!!:)

You should be able to start checking in around 10:30, so by the time you get your luggage at most you have 4 hours to kill. Once on the ship you can get your pool time immediately, just carry a bathing suit in your carry on luggage.

If finances allowed, I would rent a limo for the 4 hours and have the driver head over to A1A at Dania Beach Blvd. Then head south, taking in the oceanfront development. I would stop for breakfast at Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House at 172nd Street and Collins Ave (A1A) in the section of North Miami Beach known as Sunny Isles, for an experience you've likely never had, and will not have the opportunity for in the future, as the place is slated to close soon to become the site of yet more condos. Then continue south until you reach South Beach where there are plenty of sights to take in. Have a stroll along Ocean Drive and walk on the beach if you like. Then the short ride to the pier.
