Camp Carnival while in Port

I apologize in advance because I am sure that this question has been asked and answered but the forum search is not working for me. Is there CC while in port? I will be on Celebration next week on a 4 day to the Bahamas. We are only in Freeport for a few hours but we will be in Nassau for about 10 hours. I'd like to bring the kids ashore and do the walking tour with them and spend some time at the beach. But then, I want to put them in CC and do some adult activities in Nassau. Does anyone know about this?

 

On another note...Do you tip CC workers? If so, how much?

There is no CC during port time. You are able to tip the workers just ask your steward for extra envelopes.

I just got off the Miracle, and there was Camp Carnival during the entire time we were in port, on all islands.

We were just on the Fantasy and there was CC during port days as well as sea days. No problem leaving them at all.

Some ships do have camp while in port. They ask if you are not going ashore to pick your kids up. Mine stayed on the Legend once while we went ashore. At the end of the cruise I give $25.00 in and envolope to the camp. IMO it should be and auto tip for them on my ss card. it would make it easier and I think the split would be better for them.

That being said.....think about leaving an adult from your party onboard just in case something should happen to you while in port.

Camp Carnival is available while in port, though it is mostly supervised free play as opposed to scheduled activities. They do ask that you pick up your children for meals if you are onboard.

Thanks for the reminder to tip the camp carnival workers....I hope that I would think to do so, but vacation brain may take over...
