Bettyboop66 Posted February 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2007 I know that I've seen a thread about this but I can't find it, I'm not very good with the search tools on this board. I just called NCL shore excursion dept. and was told that the fee for the car rental from the ship is a flat rate for anywhere from 4 hours to 24 hours. Has anyone ever rented cars through the shore excursions? Was it easier than using the actual rental agencies on the islands? We have been researching the car rental sites but I think that I am on information overload. Any help would be appreciated.
Nancyquilts Posted February 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2007 We rent directly - there is a discount site for Hawaii car rentals (which I can't remember), but the prices at the rental sites are pretty good - we had a car for the day in Kona for about $41 (plus gas), and at Hilo for less. olgi1966 Posted February 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2007 When I first called NCL about the cars, they told me it was for the whole time while in port, but when I called to reserve someone else told me it was only a 4-hour rental. So I just booked through the Discount Car Rental website... Thrifty.
