alwayssingin Posted February 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2007 For those of you who've taken many NCL cruises, which itineraries have the least tender ports? We like to do things on our own (rent a car, taxi, etc.), and therefore always have to wait to disembark at tender ports. Just wondering, which cruises have the least tender ports overall? Thanks! melika091900 Posted February 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2007 hard to say since sometimes it also depends on how many ships are there that day,.,,, we went to mexico on ncl star and we tendered at 2 ports out of 4..... we would have had to tender in PV but luckily we were the only ship there, so it all depends,, Melissa
KeystoneCruiser Posted February 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2007 All of the interisland Hawaii itineraries on the Pride ships (POA, POAm and POH) only have one tender port. (Kona) The Fanning Island/Hawaii itinerary has two (Kona & Fanning Island) On the Dawn's 7 day last summer, we only had to tender at Great Stirrup Cay. (the private island) On the Glacier bay itinerary in Alaska in 2005, we arrived in Juneau early (before our berth was ready) and so they offered tendering for the first two hours, until the berth was ready and they could dock. The rest of the ports did not requuire tendering. Remember on NCL ships, those who book NCL tours have first priority to all tenders and get off first. Also, the "anchor" time is not the time the tendering begins. Tendering begins about 60-90 minutes after "anchor"
