Somerset Long Bay Beach

We will be docking in the Dockyard and were looking for a beach close by. Last year we tried the snorkel park and we're looking for something different this year. Does anyone have any info on Somerset Long Bay? We have 2 small kids so I don't really want a long bus ride to Horseshoe Bay. Does anyone know about how much cab fare would be from the Dockyard to this beach? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Somerset Long Bay is about a 10-15 minute drive from King's Wharf (Dockyard). It's been a while since I was last there, but I remember there being picnic tables and lots of shade. The water is shallow and there are few to no waves, so it will be good for small children. The school nearby, Somerset Primary, used to use it from time to time for gym classes.

As for cab fare, I'm not sure how much it would cost, but I can't see how it would be overly expensive.

Hope this helps!

We went here and were very disappointed. There was a lot of broken glass/garbage on the beach as well as homeless people present. Not a nice beach at all. No reason to go back. Swimming didn't look very safe either. Waves looked dangerous. We found it to be the most unappealing beach in all of Bermuda. And we have seen most of them. Go to Horseshoe Bay. It's not that far. Maybe 30 mins from Dockyard tops.
