CamilleandNick Posted February 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Does anyone know if the casino will still allow you to get cash from your onboard account (pre-secured with a credit card)? I am not talking about getting chips...I am talking about getting CASH to play with.
Zimomiller Posted February 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Yes. I did that every night last year on my Jewel sailing. There is a daily limit. You get a receipt that you turn in at the table and they give you chips. When done, just cash in your chip. Very convenient
AnnieKiriazis Posted February 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Hey there, When I was on the Star in December, I got cash at the casino cage that I just signed to my room. It was put on my shipboard account and not as a cash advance which you would normally pay a fee for. With it going on your shipboard account, it goes through as a purchase and therefore, no extra charges. At least that was what it was like in December. Good luck in the casino if that's where you'll use the money, and have a great cruise! Hopefully will be sailing the Spirit in December this year. CamilleandNick Posted February 12, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2007 That is exactly what I am asking...I want to know if the JEWEL will give you cash that is signed to the onboard account by going to the casino. I don't want a paper voucher. I want the cash. We did this on both the Star and the Dawn. I have heard of the paper voucher thing. I want to sign for the CASH in the casino and use it on tables. Has anyone done this?
johnql Posted February 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2007 If you're going to play at the tables anyway, what's the difference whether they give you cash or give you chips? If you get cash, you'll end up having to exchange the cash for chips at the tables anyway.
aces389 Posted February 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Yes they will give you cash. At the cage they ask if you are playing slots or table games. If slots they give cash. Limit was $2,000 per day but over $500? (could have been $800), they called the purser for authorization. Ends up as a purchase on your credit card when you get the bill. Good luck!:)

jafo91199 Posted February 12, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 12, 2007 They do give cash - they also have a Casino at Sea Club (points). Unless you are playing with a LARGE amount of money in the casino - not worth the time.
johnql Posted February 12, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2007 I disagree about the Casinos at Sea card. Since it costs nothing to sign up, any benefits are a bonus. I've gotten $50 back credited to my onboard account. Not a huge amount but something's better than nothing. I've also read that people who primarily play slots (I don't) rack up points even faster (relative to table games, that is).
