Good 'secluded' swimming beach?

MidLothian

Recommended Posts

Now, I understand that this may be an oyxmoron (if a beach is good for swimming, why isn't it crowded?) but of the more secluded beaches on the island, which ones are good for swimming?

I'm thinking hopefully soft sand, decent waves, warm-ish water, that sort of thing. I'm not looking for nearby activities or bars or restaurants or equipment rentals - just brilliant sand and clear water and hopefully not too many people :)

Are there any such beaches? Perhaps in more 'out of the way' areas?

I suppose, conversely, which swimming beach is the *most* crowded

Thanks for the help!
