Have booked to stay at the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel and Yacht Resort pre and post cruise in April. Any comments? Close to Port Everglades? How are the accomodations? Any better suggestions?

Your comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Formerly the Marriott Marina. Purchased by the Blackstone Group, opted not to renew the Marriott franchise. Currently rebuilding the tower section that was damaged by hurricane . Decent property, you'll be fine for a night. ;)

I'm also looking at this hotel for pre-cruise. Does anyone know if they have airport or cruiseport shuttles and if not, approx. how much cab fare would be to/from hotel to both air and cruise ports? Also, anyone know approx. cab fare to beach hotels? I'm planning for a group of people and am trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to stay near the port or pay less for a hotel farther away. Thanks!

Are you traveling on the April 13th Celebrity (12 days to Southampton) if you are we are the loud ones in Michael's.

We are staying for 3 nights at the HI Sea/Port because trip advisor has given it rave reviews. It is spring break for several colleges and we want to avoid the beach. Not posh but there is shuttle to the port. Basic but we can be pampered on the ship.:D

Ihad some friends that stayed there a few weeks ago and they said it was alright. I want to stay when the tower is finished. They say it will be done by April. We will not take a chance so we are staying at the Hyatt Pier 66 in the Tower. That is beautiful. We stayed there last year and watched in the ships come in from the balcony on the 14th floor.
