ctkc Posted May 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Have 2 children, an 8 year old boy and 10 year old girl. My 10 year old thought the program to be ok, only spent 3 evenings in her group. My 8 year old( almost 9) was bored to death. I understand that he was the top age in the explorer group but after the first night he didn't want to go back. I forced him to give it another chance, he was bored, thought it was stupid and said he wouldn't go back. At this point I asked the staff if he could bump up to the next age level. I was told he had to come again before they would bump him up and they needed to see him participate more and want to be there before they would allow any changes. I tried to explain he was bored to death and was told that this was their policy. Needless to say he never went back except the last night because I was packing and he said if nothing else, he would take his game boy. It was survivor night so he did participate but was incredibly dissapointed. There was a 12 year old in our group that did enjoy her program. My kids are very mature for their age and I think if they were allowed to bump up, my DH and myself might have been able to do at least one adult activity( casino, shows, etc. ) I did explain this in the survey as I got off the ship. petersonwith3 Posted June 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2004 We just came back and my kids 8,7, and 14 LOVED the program. It must be the ship and the specific staff.
