blackpool belle Posted February 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2007 Not sailed with RCI since 2004. Do the waiters still stand on the dining room stairs to sing? O Sole Mio?
GoBlue522 Posted February 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2007 Was on Monarch last month and the waiters did indeed on one night sing "O Sole Mio", although not on the stairs since there aren't any in the dining rooms on that ship. They sang again the last night of the cruise a song I cannot now remember... Doesn't add much to the experience for me but my seven month old son got a kick out of it... Sheffie Posted February 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2007 They did on the Seranade last April. Some of them could even sing on-key!
BuyReallyLow Posted February 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2007 On Freedom you will get the normal last night singing, plus a wonderful 3-part harmony on I believe the first night. They give you a show everynight in the main dining room on Freedom.
smw0621 Posted February 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2007 On the Jewel they do still sing on the stairs on "Italian" night. It wasn't O Sole Mio though.

SheilaSailAway Posted February 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2007 This was onboard the Enchantment in January. Buon appetito!
Schplinky Posted February 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2007 Most lines have their waiters sing something or other. On Celebrity, it was auld ange syne during the baked Alaska, on HAL it was an Indonesion song of greeting (as much of the staff is from there). I think it's harmless and some seem really to like it.
