Katmai National Park ? - BQ & Others

If I can arrange my time accordingly is it worth it for me to visit and possibly spend the night at Brooks Lodge in Katmai for a night or two? We are looking at late May (more likely the second week of June) and I really would like to see bears. I know it is early, but what are the odds of seeing some even if they aren't in full force.

Thanks!

to early for brooks, may see a couple...may being the key word. You could go to halo bay, or take a trip with emerald air and most likely see some feeding on the sedge grasses ect, but fishing wont start till later in the season. I did halo bay acouple years ago first week of june and saw quite a few out eating grass...no fishing going on at all though, still a very enjoyable experience...going back end of june this year with emerald air.
