Has anyone stayed here?

We are considering the Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotel for our pre cruise stay in Honolulu. Has anyone stayed there? Did you like it and how close is it to the beach. It has been completely remodeled in 2006 and the price is good. Would be interested in hearing for anyone who knows about this hotel.

Never stayed there, but looking at the map, it appears to be about two blocks off waikiki beach.

 

According to Trip Advisor, it is rated 12 out of the 87 hotels in Waikiki. Here is the link to their review:
