jwmcq Posted February 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2007 I just realized that DST happens the first night of our cruise (it falls earlier this year - March 11.) Does anyone know if Belize goes to DST? Or will they remain in Central Standard time. I would sure hate to miss the ship by an hour! Thanks! gomomgo Posted February 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2007 Check out this site http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/g.html It doesn't specifically name Belize, but it looks like the US and Canada are alone in the area for changing to DST earlier. It may be that Belize never observed DST. I would definitely check before I got off the ship. We will be there the week after the change, so at least we'll have time to check into it. Have a great trip!

chm1219 Posted February 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2007 According to Coral Breeze, Belize is on central time and does not observe DST. We have an excursion booked with them and they were very careful to advise us of the time difference.

Belize will be two hours behind ship time: i.e. 7am ship time will be 5am Belize time
