Ft. Lauderdale pier to Ft. Lauderdale airport

Can anyone please tell me if we can make an 11:35 am flight out of Ft. Lauderdale . We are sailing on the Jewel of the seas on Nov. 13 and we return on Nov. 20, the best air fare and flight out of FLL leaves at 11:35 am and we are not sure if we can make this flight, all those that have done this before please let us know. Thanks for the help. JD

The airport is about 5 minutes from the pier. But FLL really gets long winding security lines on days when there are ships, especially in the morning.

 

Have you ever been on the ship the last morning and you keep hearing announcements for someone (a foreign person) to report to a specific place? Nobody is getting off that ship until that person does what they're supposed to.

 

I personally wouldn't recommend that flight for those reasons, but a lot of people will say you'll be fine. They must not be the worrying type.

We have made 11:15 flights quite regularly without any problems. Depending on what time your ship is due in, you should have plenty of time.

Normally, even with a short hold up for those lost passengers onboard the last morning, we are at the airport by 9-9:30 when we take a taxi.

Should be do-able. Be sure to let the purser's desk know of your departure time so you get one of the early departure luggage tag colors. Also, would recommend NOT using the RCI bus transfers. You'll have more control if you take a taxi.
