Looking forward to hearing from you all Noumea - Le Petit Train - Myths of Kanak Culture (but if your sailing from Brisbane on Star, this probably won't be available Vila - Lagoon Cruise is supposed to be good. aliflem Posted February 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2007 If you're in Noumea for a full day I would recommend Amedee Island. The tour is fully inclusive including a buffet lunch with drinks and entertainment throughout the day. A very enjoyable day aliflem :)
Tropicalshowers Posted February 23, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2007 This is what we did (with 2 'teenage' kids in tow), all of which were good: Noumea- Le Petite train Lifou- Cliffs of Jokin (including the Vanilla plantation which we did enjoy...many posters here have been disappointed) Vila- Ekasup Cultural Village So enjoyed Vila, that we're going back for a 'full' holiday in Sept.! Cheers
Ransome Posted February 23, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Definitely Le Petit Train in Noumea, and go for a walk around town to soak up the French/Pacific asmosphere. Last time in Vila two of us did the Abseil Cascade Waterfalls (very physical and rewarding) and the other two did the Rainforest Horse Ride (great). Allow time in Vila to take a walk through the shops as well (most tours will drop you off in Vila at the end, and it's a AUD$10 taxi fare back to the ship). oztraveller Posted February 23, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks everyone - very helpful while going through the tours book. I'm a bit of a shopoholic too:) so looking forward to having a look through them whilst at these ports. Have a great day
DucknChook Posted February 26, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2007 Oztraveller, I did the Cliffs of Jonkin in Lifou, was absolutly stunning, wear your swimmers so you can dive off the cliff. Also had time for a snorkel and walk up to the church afterwards.
