Which cruise for Mexican Riviera??

We have 2 kids, 9 & 12, and we are trying to decide on which ship for the Mexican Riviera. Our choices are Norwegian Star, and Carnival Spirit. They both look good, and I like the "Freestyle" part of NCL. I just want to make sure I pick the right one for the kids. We went on the Explorer of the Seas last year, so I know that neither of these will quite match up to that one as far as things for them to do. They like the idea of the waterslides on both of these ships. Please help because we are looking at going the last week of March.

Also, last time we chose a small table for just the 4 of us, have any of chosen a large table? I just don't want to get stuck with people without kids.

We went on the Star last October and had a great time. The crew, ports etc were great. My grandkids are much younger than your children and they had a wonderful time. My grandkids as well as grown up children had a great time on the water slides. The big yellow ones on the main pool deck are not really fast but when both slides are open people were having a great time racing to see who could get to the bottom first. The little kid slide at the back of the ship was fun for the little ones too.

The Star has freestyle dining so you choose to eat alone at a group table. You never get stuck with the same group of people because everyone eats whenever and where ever they want.

People with kids seem to gravitate toward other people with kids so I'm sure you'll have a great time which ever ship you choose.
