Legend - Upgrade Question

I originally booked a balcony guaranty through Carnival a couple of months ago for the 9/9/07 sailing. Check the Cruise site and they were offering the balcony upgrades to 8I.

 

I just had Carnival modify my balcony guaranty to room 8177 on the Panorama deck with extended balcony.

 

Was this a good move? Could I have done better?

Advice please as I am a newbie to cruising.

I think you did great. I think it is pretty rare to book a balcony guarantee and end up with a suite. So, really getting a 8I would be a great upgrade. I usually book the balcony guarantee, but when I recently booked my Legend cruise I saw the same deal that you took advantage of. So, I got an 8I for the same price as a balcony guarantee. I was really happy with the deal. I also like being on the Panorama deck - only one deck up to the pools and buffet.
