cruisin4funtoo Posted March 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2007 We are sailing on Mariner and have adjoining D1 balcony rooms. Was wondering if we are able to have the balcony doors opened to have then connect also? Has anyone out there ever seen or had this done? Thanks
Driftwoodgal Posted March 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2007 We wanted ours opened on the Brilliance. We were told that they wouldn't open them.

Ladydee Posted March 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Well.... I don't think you're supposed to, but.... our last cruise on the Grandeur was the one that got "shipwrecked" in Costa Maya for 3 days. Our group had 5 balcony rooms in a row and we did open the dividing panels. I have to say it was pretty awesome. I believe the danger is in having them unlocked while the ship is moving. Our steward was aware of what we had done but never said anything.
disneymomtwo Posted March 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2007 We had 2 connecting rooms on Deck 10 of the Mariner in November 2006 and the room steward opened both the connecting room doors and the connecting balcony doors for us.
glickk Posted March 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2007 We were on Mariner New Year's week in connecting E-1 cabins. Our room steward got her supervisor who had the magic "tool" and --- voila!-- we had our connecting balconies opening. It was great!
boatmom Posted March 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Do you have to be connecting rooms to have the balconies opened? We have friends in the next room on the Enchantment, but they are not connecting?
gadaboutgal Posted March 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Last September on the Mariner, we had cabins 8656 and 8658- not connecting rooms. We asked and were able to have the balcony door opened between them. Though the cabin staff tried on the first day they were unable to do so; however, on day 2, they had someone from maintenance come and (using wd40?) he was able to open them. cruisin4funtoo Posted March 2, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Thanks for the info. We actually have 5 rooms in a row also and it would be awesome if we could open all the doors!
