tbenson81 Posted March 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2007 So - those debarking in Vancouver just to fly home have nothing to worry about with this new law? We are cruising from ANC to Vancouver. If there is a problem - they will just take use to the airport, where we need to go anyways? Will the police take us to the airport for free hence saving us cab fare? WarEagle76 Posted March 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2007 Tony believe you are referring to thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/announcement.php?f=39&a=98 Interesting question. A couple of thoughts: 1. You will have to provide documentation to Princess prior to boarding in ANC. I would assume this information would be used to clear ship upon arrival in Vancouver for Canadian immigration. 2. A what point does the above take place? Will Princess proactively forward any documentation to Canadian officials for anyone boarding in U.S. knowing departure from ship will be in Canada and thus tell you that you cannot sail? Will you be stuck on the ship in Vancouver and not allowed to leave? It will be interesting over the coming months to see how this plays out as ships begin leaving from and arriving in Canada this Spring and Summer and what responsibility the cruise lines will have in enforcing it. mii Posted March 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2007 ????? He is talking about the announcement on all cruiselines on top of page 1 by LauraS. Also you will find info on that subject on the Alaska, Canada, ports of calls board. Marilyn
D4 Posted March 4, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2007 This isn't a new law. It's just finally getting some much needed press.
WarEagle76 Posted March 4, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2007 The reports I read stated that the Canadian authorities up until recently have not had the technology and data available to fully enforce.
