Port Canaveral Car Rentals

Hi Fellow Cruisers

 

We are going on the Miracle and our first stop is Port C. We are renting a car from Avis and was wondering if anyone has used them recently in Port C.

If so, how long did the process actually take from beginning to driving away. We are headed to Disney Studios for the day. Also how is traffic and if any of you went to Disney on your own, what time would you suggest we leave to return to the ship. Thank you for your input and hope to hear from some of you.

We didn't use Avis, but Budget and it was a breeze. We booked online several months ago and got an Explorer for a total of $48. Rented it at MCO and turned it in at Budget on Astronaut Blvd. in Cape Canaveral. (very, very close to port)Van was waiting to take us to port. No hassles at all.

Ok, re-read your thread and what I told you is probably not going to help. BUT--we rented a car from Budget when we returned (long story, last minute thing) and went to Sea World for the day. They gave us a great map and it took us probably 45 minutes, so you would need to tack on another 10 minutes to do Disney. We did Disney prior to the cruise and it was less than an hour to get to Cape Canaveral to turn in the car....
