jetskier Posted January 11, 2008 #1501 Share Posted January 11, 2008 This info with regard to the refurb is never easy to locate. Did you get that info from Carnival? We are looking at the possibilty of booking Fantasy the first or second week of October, BUT, the only way I can get my wife back on that ship is after the Refurb and water "stuff" has been added. Is there somewhere I can go to find this info to print out and show her. Actually it is pretty easy if you know the general time frame. If you can go to a website that shows a couple months at a time of the sailings, you can see the gap in the schedule. Dave
luv2cruise123 Posted January 12, 2008 #1502 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Please tell me Punta Langosta Downtown pier! What about you past Fantasy cruisers? We have 3 ships on Jan. 24th according to Cruise Cal, but no one can tell me - including Carnival where we will dock in Cozumel! We sail on Jan. 21! Thanks for help in advance! mariemorgan Posted January 12, 2008 #1503 Share Posted January 12, 2008 http://www.cozumelinsider.com/CruiseShips It only does it a week at a time though.. so you'll have to check the week of your cruise.

Debbie in MS Debbie, The schedule is determined by the Harbor Master in Cozumel a week at a time. That is why Carnival cannot tell you. The Fantasy has been docking at either the Punta Langosta or the International pier. Look at http://www.cozumelinsider.com on the morning of Jan 21st and you will be able to find out which pier you are going to. Dave
RolexRider Posted January 14, 2008 #1505 Share Posted January 14, 2008 After Karinia the wal-marts had reduced hours of operation. I do not know if they are back to 24 hours or not. Perhaps a phone call will set your mind at ease. Also, keep in mind the grocery stores here also sell "hard" liquor, berr and most have an extensive wine selection. Better than Wal-Mart. Of course, they have cold beer. As far as do they quit selling at certain hours, NO, if they are open they will sell it. They do however frown on onsite comsumption. On Sundays the local Winn-Dixie grocery store alot of times will have wine tasting for free. JimmyJames (Slidell, La.) Yep your right. i was home for Christmas and my mom said walmarts in slidell are still not back to 24 hours yet. covington is from what i understand though. just thought i'd post this even though it was from a few weeks ago for ones not familiar to the area and reading the boards for future cruises out of NOLA not to waste their time with walmart in slidell if its after 9/10pm.(not sure which time it closes) now this might change or has changed since i was there just a couple weeks ago but i doubt has yet. luv2cruise123 Posted January 15, 2008 #1506 Share Posted January 15, 2008 Unfortunately on the morning of the 21st, we will all be headed to the ship or some will have gone on a day ahead. Also, does anyone know of a car rental place in Cozumel that is easy to get in touch with???????I had a guy's name from Advanatge car rentals we used Thanksgiving week and he will not respond to my emails! We need a vehicle for 6 people??????????? Debbie in MS
cruzzza Posted January 15, 2008 #1507 Share Posted January 15, 2008 I don't believe Fantasy has undergone the EOF upgrades with regard to the restructure of the pool decks, kids water park and slides moved to the back of the ship..etc. WHAT???? I thought the water park and slides would be in the main pool area in the center of the ship!! Oh NO, I am so disappointed. My favorite area on deck is the aft area, now I won't be able to enjoy it at all. I don't understand this. The aft area is the most peaceful and those like me who like to chill out and watch the wake of the ship are going to be booted off to... where???? There's no other place on the ship that I like to lay out. I thought the adults only area was going to be on the aft and the water park area was going to be midships where the main pool is. Boy was I wrong. I thought the pics on Carnival's website showed it like that. I'm going to have to look at those again. I'm glad I'm sailing next month BEFORE they "improve" the ship. Only bad thing is that I found out by reading the last couple of pages that the CD and some of his staff are leaving for vacation. That could affect the "fun" aspect. I was looking forward to Big Tex.

It saved me big time when we had our car wreck there. Without it, I would have had to pay the $600 deductable upfront before we would have been allowed to leave the police station. nowendy Posted January 15, 2008 #1509 Share Posted January 15, 2008 Any recent Fantasy travelers......What entertainment are in the lounges right now? We were on the ship the beginning of November and really enjoyed the singer at the casino bar.... James or John Can't remember what his name was, but he was very entertaining. Hope he is still there on the Mardi Gras cruise. Can't wait!

cruisermom8888 Posted January 17, 2008 #1514 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I am going on the Fantasy next week. Rather than going on a shore excursion, we would like to rent a car to go to the beach and drive around Cozumel. Does anyone know if there are nice public beaches off the road that you can just stop at and spend some time?

Does anyone know if there are nice public beaches off the road that you can just stop at and spend some time? The beaches in Mexico belong to the people. There are several spots on the East road you can pull over and go down to the beach. Just keep in mind that if you swim, there can be severe rip currents due to it being on the unprotected side. That is why all the development is on the west side. Dave

kaseykahnefan Posted January 25, 2008 #1517 Share Posted January 25, 2008 This may have been answered but I cannot find it. What exactly are they going to do to the Fantasy while she is in dry dock. We are booked on one of the first sailings after she comes out of drydock and I just wanted to know what they are going to do. Thanks in advance for your answers. Deck 11 Verandah at the rear of the ship is the best spot. The ship has to pivot in the river to head downstream. This aft area gives you some great shots of New Orleans before you make the big right hand turn at the bend. Dave

We are booked on one of the first sailings after she comes out of drydock and I just wanted to know what they are going to do. Thanks in advance for your answers. On Deck 11 Verandah Aft, they are going to install a 300' waterslide and two wavy race slides. There also will be a fountain that shoots water up from various locations in the deck. The two Owner's Suites at the Atrium Deck 11 are going to be converted into Camp Carnival. All cabins are going to be refurbished. Deck 10 Lido Mid, the pool area is going to be redone. There could also be some changes to the Pizza area in the Windows buffet area Deck 10 Aft. Deck 9 Promenade Aft, the Forum lounge is going to be enlarged to take up the space where Camp Carnival used to be. Deck 8 Atlantic Aft the kids pool is being removed and the Adult Serenity area put in with two hottubs. You can go to Carnival's website and look at the deckplans for the Imagination and the Inspiration. The new changes have been made on the deckplans.
