Fantasy Only Questions ...

Dave,

I'm paying bills tonight, and when I thought about our credit card bill, I realized that I had not come back to this thread to see if you had any kind of reply from the Port of New Orleans.

Thanks for doing the "leg work" on this refund. I'll send in the information this week. Honestly, if they had come back and said that the extra charge was going into rebuilding the city of New Orleans, I would have been completely fine with that.

Hi Martha,

Got the refund posted to my CC as of Monday.

Do the dining rooms have windows and if so, what table sitting is by them, (booth, table for 6/8, etc) ?

Also when do they fill the pools up with sea water?

I remember the holiday was empty when we boarded in Feb 2005 and had water in the morning of the next day. The further out you are from the coast the warmer the water is right now. Curious what time they might fill it during the night so I can estimate how far they are from the coast.

Review of 4/4 said pool was cold. We are leaving 4/16.

I was on the Sensation a few years ago (a Fantasy class ship) and we had a table for 8 that was next to the window. The booths that were across from us sat 6.

The round tables in the middle sat 10, a few smaller tables were for 4.

Water temp varies depending on currents, wave height, cloud cover. Sometimes the pools are drained each night sometimes not. This time of year, expect the pool temps to be 66-72 degrees.

Yikes! I hope it's not that cold of water. Anything below 78 is getting chilly and at 66 no one would be in the water for too long.

Do they have towels by the pool?

What about the adult pool and hottubs on the fantail?

Two ways on the towels.

1. You will have two towels in your cabin. Your cabin steward will take the dirty one and replace it with a clean one.

2. On the Lido deck, there will be a person giving out towels.

Jetskier,

If we have 3 people in our cabin, we would get 3 towels . right ? I was getting worried. But I thought NAH!!! 3 People means 3 towels ...we know you were talking in general, right ?

When they disembark , do you know the order of floors being disembarked by chance?

Would it be better to selfdisembark? to avoid the heap of suitcases I have heard about ...LOL

and shuttles would be available for this afterwards?

Does anyone have any recent capers from the FANTASY available to post ?

If you dont have three, just ask your cabin steward for another one. Usually it starts on the Empress deck. Self-embark has been a nightmare the last couple of times I have been onboard as people are not waiting for the floors to be called. If you dont get in line before they start calling, you will be waiting for sometime to get off. Shuttles would be available at both times.

Jetskier,

I noticed that, I would assume because of your location, that you frequent the Holiday and the Fantasy. We were on the Holiday last year and doing the Fantasy in October. Just wondering, besides the deck plans, the biggest differences between the two?

How does the food, service and entertainment compare?

Had you ever been on the Fantasy? What was your overall experience like? I have ask this question several times and recieved several answers I'll try it one more time, was your room key your S & S card? I guess it is possible for each cabin to be different.

Do you rememeber seeing the new Margaritaville in Cozumel? If so, does it have a pool? How clean was the pool at Costa Maya, have heard it its not maintained very well, what did you think?

We sailed on the Fantasy in December and again in March. Overall the experience was good (or we would not have gone back so quickly).

The Fantasy still uses the separate plastic key for the doors. We had "heard" that was going to be changed...but it as not been yet. Perhaps during a long dry dock??

I did not see a new Margaritaville in Cozumel, so I can't comment on that.

I know that the new one in Grand Cayman is a lot of fun, but expensive (but then everything in Grand Cayman is expensive).

We went to Costa Maya in October on the Miracle and our younest son enjoyed the pool. It is huge and was very clean when we were there.

Have a great cruise!!

Fantasy is a bigger ship, more venues, larger shops. Entry is on Deck 7 instead of Deck 5. Rooms are larger on the Holiday. Food and entertainment about the same. Service is much better on the Holiday.

We got of Fantasy 2 days ago after cruising glory in june. We could tell we were on an older ship, but it is clean and we really were impressed with the food and service. We were not dissapointed. We did have a seperate key. The kids got the lanyard from the casino and they punch a hole in their sign and sail card. This worked great for the water slide.

In cozumel we went to chaakanaab park they have a pool which we used and we love to snorkel this place is maintained well. Wehave been their many times and love it. In costa maya the pool is salt water, we went to mahajual. We ate drank and did the water sports.
