vcredit card/debit card or cash?

I am just wondering if anyone knows how much money they hold against your credit card. We (2 adults/2 kids) are first time cruising on the legend in Sept. I also wonder how this works with debit cards, do they hold the same amount? I am just trying to figure out, since we plan to pay our bill with cash or travelers checks when we leave if we should leave either the debit or credit card on our account or just leave cash. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

$250. The same figure for debit/credit/cash. That's the "hold" for a 7-day cruise.
